Date: Tue, 8 Jul 2003 22:15:41 -0400 (EDT) From: "Keith F. Lynch" <kfl at KeithLynch.net> To: WSFA members <WSFAlist at KeithLynch.net> Subject: [WSFA] Livejournal Reply-To: WSFA members <WSFAlist at keithlynch.net> I am hurt and offended at the reaction to my message. In more than a week, NOT ONE person so much as hinted that telling WSFAns of each other's livejournals might not be appropriate. NOT ONE suggested that a week might be too short, and that I should give more time or ask again. Since at least 13 WSFA members have livejournals, I figured that this is clearly something that appeals to a lot of WSFAns, and hence might appeal to even more. Also, there might be more who already have livejournals but aren't aware of each other. So I thought I would be providing a useful service by telling WSFAns of each other's livejournals. I didn't expect great praise, but I didn't expect condemnation, either. If I were to discover that several WSFAns like to play, say, Scrabble, would everyone get offended if I informed them of this in case they might want to arrange a game? I remind everyone that there's nobody reading messages on this list except WSFA members. I thought we were all friends here. I remind everyone who has livejournals that EVERYONE IN THE WORLD can read them. Not just WSFA members. You write a journal that can be read by everyone on the planet, even in Iraq and North Korea, but you object to WSFA members seeing it? If I could find it, then so can any other WSFA member. I didn't use any computer skills to find them. I just followed the links from each person's journal to others. The links they themselves put there. Apparently for no reason except to attack anyone who follows those links. And, in more than a week, none of you bothered to tell me that you objected? Instead you thought it would be cool to wait until I posted the top secret info that you put on the World Wide Web, and then denounce me? (One person objected to my mentioning that one person's livejournal, but didn't suggest that I should refrain from listing anyone else's. I of course did not list that one person's livejournal, which is why I listed 12 not 13.) I am unsubscribing Kit at her request. Since she also never attends meetings, she should never again be troubled by WSFA in any way. -- Keith F.
