September 4 - 6: International Comic Arts Festival
   International Comic Arts Festival at Georgetown University.

September 5 - 7: The Expo
   The Expo (SPX 2003) in Bethesda Maryland. A comics-related event.

Tuesday, September 9th: Newt Gingrich speaks at Trover Shop
   Newt Gingrich, Former Speaker of the House of Representatives,
   reads from and signs copies of Gettysburg: A Novel of the Civil
   War, co-written with William Forstchen, at Trover Shop, 221
   Pennsylvania Ave. SE, at 12:30 pm. Phone 202-547-2665. It's
   near the Capitol South Metro station on the Blue and Orange
   lines.

Wednesday, September 10th: Newt Gingrich speaks at Books-a-Million
   Newt Gingrich, Former Speaker of the House of Representatives,
   reads from and signs copies of Gettysburg: A Novel of the Civil
   War, co-written with William Forstchen, at Books-a-Million,
   1451 Chain Bridge Road, McLean VA, at 7:00 pm. Phone
   703-893-7640.

Monday, September 15th: Dr. Who viewing
   The Northern Virginia Doctor Who Viewing Society will be
   showing "Survival" at the Fairfax Government Center starting at
   7 pm.

Tuesday, September 16th: Brian Herbert & Kevin J. Anderson speak at Olsson's
   Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, authors of Dune: The
   Machine Crusade, read and sign at Olsson's Books and Records at
   7 pm at 1200 F St. NW, near the Metro Center Metro station on
   the Red, Orange, and Blue lines.

Wednesday, September 17th: Brian Herbert & Kevin J. Anderson speak at Bailey's Crossroads
   Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, authors of Dune: The
   Machine Crusade, read and sign at Borders Bookstore at Bailey's
   Crossroads Virginia at 7:30 pm.

Friday, September 19th: Wen Spencer speaks at LoC
   Wen Spencer, 2003 John W. Campbell Award winner and 2002
   Compton Crook Award winner for Alien Taste, gives a talk at the
   Library of Congress, Madison Building, 3rd floor, Pickford
   Theater, at 12:10 pm.

Friday, September 19th: WSFA Third Friday Meeting
   Regular WSFA meeting (at the Ginters' as usual). Newcomers

Saturday, September 27th: GameCon 19
   A gaming convention, at the Tysons Westpark, in Tysons Corner VA.

Tuesday, September 30th: Terry Pratchett reading and signing
   Terry Pratchett reads and signs, at 6:30 pm at the Omni
   Shoreham at 2500 Calvert Street, NW, Washington, D.C. He will
   only sign one book per person. $15 to attend.

Friday, October 3rd: WSFA First Friday Meeting
   Regular WSFA meeting (at the Gillilands' as usual). Newcomers

Saturday, October 4th: 3rd National Book Festival
   Hosted by First Lady Laura Bush, on the mall between 7th and
   14th streets, in Washington DC, from 10 am until 5 pm. See

   WSFA hosts the 29th annual World Fantasy Convention, at the
   Hyatt Regency in Washington DC.

Friday, November 7th: WSFA First Friday Meeting
   Regular WSFA meeting (at the Gillilands' as usual). Newcomers

November 21 - 23: Capclave 2003
   WSFA is putting on a convention! In Silver Spring, MD.

December 12 - 14: Philcon 2003
   The Philadelphia Science Fiction Society (PSFS) brings you
   another Philcon. In Philadelphia.

May 28 - 31: Balticon 38
   The Baltimore Science Fiction Society (BSFS) brings you another
   Balticon!

June 11 - 13: Conterpoint 2004
   A filk convention in Rockville Maryland.

September 2 - 6: 62nd World SF Convention: Noreascon 4
   Back to Boston.

                             2005

August 4 - 8: 63rd World SF Convention: Interaction
   Glasgow, once more with ceilings.

September 1 - 5: CascadiaCon
   The 2005 NASFiC, which won over the Charlotte bid by six votes.

                             2006

August 23 - 27: 64th World SF Convention: L.A.con IV
   Anaheim California, same place as the 1996 Worldcon and the
   1999 NASFiC.

                             2008

Friday, February 29th: Datclave II
   Location TBA. WSFA hosts Datclave whenever a February has a
   fifth Friday. The previous one was in 1980.
