I just booked a room through the Noreascon block, so there are still
rooms left...but not for long I'm sure. $139 a night.

I too was disappointed that you weren't more involved.  But it seems
to be the way WSFA works.  Usually just one trustee comes up with a
slate without consulting the others, often only when reminded that
it's due *right* *now*.  But I attempted to keep everyone involved.

I sent email to the list on the topic on March 20th.  You responded
on the 23rd to say

  I've heard from Sam Lubell that he would be willing to warm the
  President's chair for a while, and Cathy is willing to stay on as VP.

and nothing more.  And those people are, indeed, on the slate in those
positions.

I also sent a lengthy email to you and Steve on March 31st soliciting
your response.  You didn't reply.

I wanted to consult with you and Steve before Friday's meeting was
called to order and the trustees were asked for the slate.  Steve
didn't arrive until after I had been asked for the slate, and you
didn't arrive at all.  As the sole trustee present, I provided a slate
when requested, based in part on your email.

I concluded that, with the exception of what was in that one email,
you didn't care, at least not enough to either send an email or to
show up.  The one email you did send, I followed all your suggestions.
Had you even sent a quick note asking me to please hold off on the
announcement until I heard from you, I would have done so.  But what
was I supposed to conclude from silence?

What should I have done?  Refused to take any action until you and
Steve had both shown up and approved?  There are three trustees, not
just one, for a reason.  At most meetings, not all three trustees
are present.  Should club business grind to a halt until they all
show up at once?

When Steve arrived I told him what I had done, and he said he was
pleased.

Since you'll be staying on as trustee (unless you decline nomination,
or unless someone else is nominated from the floor and gets more
votes), you will be able to do things differently next year.

Or, if you and Steve agree on a slate that differs from mine, *that*
will become the official trustees' slate for this year, and mine will
become null and void.

I hope this will not harm our ability to work together in the future.
